Studio Policies

  • Brisbane Dance Theatre (BDT) loves teaching children.  We are a small business and rely heavily on our families' commitment to the school.  We trust parents will honour their commitment to Brisbane Dance Theatre and pay all costs incurred. We therefore ask parents and students to abide by the studio policies set out below. Please review and agree to our studio policies:

  • Parking - we have designated parking spots; all other parking belongs to neighbouring businesses and are not available for use. Please park in our designated parking spots or find a park on the street.

  • Please help us develop children who are courteous to their friends and show respect to their elders. We are a Bully-Free school. The director of Brisbane Dance Theatre and the parents of the children involved will deal with any issues of this nature.

  • Students will be supervised at all times during their classes; it is the responsibility of parents/guardians to promptly collect their child from the waiting area after class. If a parent is running late we ask that you contact the school via phone or text message, so we can ensure your child is supervised.

  • Children are required to wear their uniform to ALL classes except during dress up week. Uniforms in dance classes assist in building rapport and pride.

  • No food, chewing gum or drinks will be permitted in the studios however children will be given water breaks when necessary as hydration is essential.

  • Only proper dance shoes with soft soles are to be worn on our studio floors.  Our floor is sacred to us so please respect them by removing your shoes at the door.

  • In order to maintain dancer concentration and focus, we do not allow parents to watch classes and kindly ask that you do not enter the studio while classes are in progress (exceptions can be made for some first timers). We open classes up for parents to join us in the last week of Terms 1, 2 and 3 to see the progress their child is making. In Term 4 families can watch their children at our end of year concert as we like to keep these dances a surprise.
